
Jessie Maldonado, CRPA
Peer Specialist

Jessie is a New York based peer specialist, specifically a Certified Recovery Peer Advocate (CRPA), working in private practice providing individual and group support services. Jessie specializes in helping teens and adults who have issues with substance use and adolescents who are neurodiverse. The services Jessie can support clients with are:

Non-clinical crisis support and coaching, especially after periods of hospitalization or incarceration

Providing psychoeducation about various modes of recovery

Facilitating and leading recovery groups (support and educational)

Raising awareness of existing social and other support services

Connecting clients to recovery supports and community resources
Jessie is proficient at using Motivational Interviewing (MI) and Cognitive Behavior Therapy strategies. She has experience working with teens and adults in an Article 822 outpatient clinic as a peer specialist for a SAMSHA funded youth and family co-occurring mental health and substance use program. Jessie also has over twenty year experience working in the NYCDOE system as a special education paraprofessional helping adolescents with high needs.​​

Jessie is fluent in both Spanish and English. She loves to travel around the United States, eat good food and knit in her free time.
